Sarah Miller (flute) and Elinor Nicholson (harp) met whilst studying at the Royal Northern College (RNCM) and formed the Meridiem Duo in 2013. During their time at RNCM the duo received regular chamber music coaching from specialists including Petr Prause, Rob Buckland and Pavel Fischer. Since then, the duo has performed recitals across the country delighting audiences with the wide range of repertoire available for this instrumentation
The duo is proud to be musicians on the ‘Live Music Now!’ Scheme, founded by legendary violinist Yehudi Menuhin. This charity inspires those who may not have access to live music performance by placing musicians in settings such as special needs schools, hospitals, pupil referral units and residential homes.
Brought up in Manchester, Sarah has recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music gaining a first class honours in the Bachelor of Music course, studying the flute under Laura Jellicoe.
With a heart for orchestral and chamber music, Sarah has enjoyed playing with professional orchestras such as the Hallé and the Orchestra of the Welsh National Opera. Whilst regularly performing well-loved works in lunchtime and evening recitals, she enjoys exploring the exciting contemporary repertoire available on the flute, recently performing Robin Stevens’ ‘O Brave New World’ and the premiere of Daniel Lim’s ‘When They Come Marching In’.
Sarah’s flute was purchased with the help of the Sir John Barbirolli Memorial Foundation.
